VERY short notice on this one, but our contact just got back to me on this today. The Philharmonic is doing 2 Hooray for Hollywood concert performances with songs from "films such as Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, The Godfather, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Wizard of Oz, The King's Speech, James Bond, Harry Potter and more."
We are welcome to come dressed out and participate in the "Parade of Stars" at the end of the show. Audience members will be dressed as various movie stars and characters.
ALSO, our contact has the following request/offer: If a "really recognizable character (stormtrooper, Vader, Leia, etc) would be available, they would like them to stand behind the season ticket sales table to help promote next season's events (which includes a Sci-Fi Night we will be participating in). Anyone willing to do this will get (2) comped tickets to the show. There are (4) tickets available for each night. Comments: Opening concert of the second season Summer Rhapsody Music Festival. The program is a tribute to the music of John Williams. Star Wars music to be performed at the end of the concert. Concert is free to the public.

This event is a big draw in the area. I'll be working with the contact to see what exactly our role will be, whether it's on-stage or audience participation, so stay tuned.


NOTE: THIS IS A DUAL EVENT DAY FOR THE AREA. The North Judson Train Museum is this same day, but this Valpo event is later in the day. Plus the Train event is Sat and Sun and this event is only Sat.

I'll be calling in the MWG to help with this one as most of you will have already signed up for the Train troop.

Here's the event as it stands, more details will follow as we work out the finer points...
On 9/29 and 9/30, the downtown streets of Vincennes will be closed off. They will be running go-kart races all weekend, street racing style!
This is a new event for CASA so we are in the early planning stages of what the 501st/RL can bring them. They are particularly interested in how we can help them do fundraising during the event.
Here's some things we are discussing at this point:

- Droid Hunt
- Shoot A Trooper table
- Troopers flagging races

More will come as we lock down the details of this.
