Greetings all,

I reside on the east side of Indianapolis, and until last year really knew nothing of the 501st or the Bloodfin Garrison existence till a good friend of mine told me about it. I was explaining to him how I was interested in purchasing a costume simply to entertain my daughter's kindergarten class who btw were all, and still are today, little Star Wars fanatics. The next generation in the works.

I have been a reenactor for several decades representing western and medieval time periods. I also have a brother that has been involved with WW II & medieval time periods and will more than likely follow suit.

Like so many here we have been fan of Lucas's creation since the first time we saw it back in 1977 at the Eastwood theater on the east side of Indy.

I personally would sincerely like to join the ranks. I'm at the point now where I am ready to commit to the task of purchasing and piecing together a villains costume.

I have had my sights for sometime on becoming a Stormtrooper :trooper:, at least for starters.

I do know how purchasing mistakes can be made when one starts out on such an adventure and I just want to make sure that I get my purchases correct the first time out. I've done some research but technically I'm a newb and your the veterans

With that said, I would be forever grateful if some of you could perhaps assist me or point me in the right direction in making the correct decision for my costume to meet the Legions requirements.

It would be most appreciated

I anxiously await your replies

Sincerely

Marcus

BTW, I wish those involved with the concert this weekend the best! As you all know its an incredible production and having the privilege of participating in it... you have to be absolutely stoked!

Enjoy!

Hello Marcus!! Welcome to the Bloodfin Garrison/Mos Espa Base forums! You have already taken the first step, which is finding your way here! I appreciate your attention to research and wanting to do the job right...both critical components of assembling a 501st caliber costume!

If you are indeed interested in starting off with a Stormtrooper (TK) costume, I will direct you to our Stormtrooper detachment forums, the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment (http://forum.whitearmor.net/) (FISD). Here you will find some invaluable information about sourcing your armor, the costume reference library (CRL; a listing of the minimum requirements for membership with that costume), and some helpful advice regarding the assembly of your new armor.

I am your membership liaison and am available to your for any questions you may have. Please feel free to send me a private message (PM) here on the forums or email me directly.

Again, welcome!

Welcome to the boards Marcus. Be sure to fire away any questions as you work thru your costume. And when you get tired of the shiny armor, make your way to the MEPD Sandtrooper forum so we can dirty you up!!!:D

Outstanding!! Thank you ShockNurse! The FISD appears to be a incredibly valuable resource for what I'm seeking. I know I'll be hanging out there for awhile.
Lots of reading & research to do, I appreciate it! http://i41.tinypic.com/10zvfnk.jpg

Motliek, I do like that weathered/blasted from the sands of Tatooine look!

Are there very many of the Sandtroopers here locally among the Bloodfin Garrison compared to the TK's?

Kilted Troopers? Is there a special tartan?? Curious, as I own several kilts myself.

Of course you like the look of weathering, it shows we actually get out there and do things - Like burn up Aunts and Uncles, shoot wee Jawas, and of course droid hunts. :D

As far as numbers, TDs are a special breed(shut up peanut gallery) and we only have a handful of active ones.

The tartan used is the Prince of Wales. However, owning/wearing a kilt and being a member of the 501st gets ye into the group.

Gotcha! Opposed to standing around looking good, escorting prisoners and getting your hiney shot off by rebel forces?? ;)

Excellent, when the time comes I will have to submit a request to join this distinguished group.

Remember TKs (Stormtroopers) are the pretty boys who stand around and get shot. TDs (Sandtroopers) are the ones who actually get down and dirty by working out in the galaxy as well as TSs (Snowtroopers).

Welcome and hope you join the Bloodfin family.

Cool, I was up that way yesterday doing some AAA runs.

I live near Linwood Square area about 4 mile east of downtown.

Don't be afraid to ask questions around here. This is one of the greatest group of people you'll ever meet.
