Matt created this new banner for the forum. The new Bloodfin logo will be swapped in once it is converted to an electronic medium.

Please comment and provide feedback.

It looks great, but shouldn't the Mos Espa Logo be first. :p

I'm sorry ignore that. It looks great and I hope that it is the start of great coop within Star Wars fandom and an example for others to follow.

Yes - I'll be the odd man out. I like the simplicity, but unless you know what the old logo means, you have no idea that Bloodfin exists. It's just gone. It's nice, but something is missing.

Plus can we have SW be the main words or is that cutting too close to some copyright thing? I thought that's why we always had the focus be on the name of the group?

Good points Jennifer. Once the new logo is digitized, we will have it up here. I believe that it has "Bloodfin Garrison" in it, so everyone will know who we are!

I'm not sure that I'm following the "SW be the main words" part. Do you mean the website URL? If so, we will be purchasing that domain name (hopefully) very soon.

The purpose of it to show that we're two groups sharing one forum. I don't have a problem adding Bloodfin Garrison and Mos Espa Base to it somewhere if that many people feel it needs to be there, but it'll say that when the new logo's up, and it also says it already in the title bar to the forum and at the top of your browser, not to mention the fact that you get to it right now solely through bloodfingarrison.com. It's not like it's a mystery or anything ;)

Charlie informed me that the new logo should be done this week. As soon as is possible, it will be swapped out with the existing logo in the banner.

1) I don't mind sharing as long as it's not my stuff! :D JK

2) I was not necessarily thinking of the banner soley in the aspect of our own web forum. I was thinking in other venues and applications; such as a parade banner or posting on another web page etc.

3) Perhaps Bloodfin Garrison should consider this in its new logo design / choice. Maybe it's not that important.

4) I think that everyone in Bloodfin & Mos Espa should be given the opportunity to consider a combined title such as "Star Wars Indiana." In a lot of ways I kinda like it. But it does bring up valid questions and the group should be happy with it. Can others make suggestions if they like?

Again, valid points Bryon. At this time, the name of the combined forum site (StarWarsIndiana.com) is decided upon. This change was deemed more of an administrative decision made by the CS of the Base and Garrison. It is these types of decisions that need to be made swiftly, and generally speaking has little affect the general membership, therefore no vote was taken. BFG will still remain a unique entity, with its own website and logo. MEB will remain its own entity, with the same features as BFG. Hopefully many of your concerns will be addressed once the new logo is completed and included within the banner.

As two costuming groups with the same purpose sharing the same board, the combined site name of SWIN.com was chosen because of its simplicity and the fact that it doesn't favor one organization over the other. Plus, to some extent, it is a matter of what domain names are available.

There have been no decisions made with regard to parade- or event-style banners. My initial thought would be to have 3. One BFG. One MEB. One combined SWIN (with both logos). While more of an expense, this provided the individuality that we need as two distinct organizations.
