Hey all.
Just wanted to indroduce myself. I'm Diana from South Bend. I've been throwing around the idea of putting together a costume to join the 501st pretty seriously for the last couple months, and I'm currently in the process of research, hoping to have something completed by the end of the year.
But, yeah. So Hi.

Hi Diana! Welcome to the Bloodfin forums! Please look around! Let me know if I can help you with anything. I'd be happy to point you in the right direction once you choose what costume you'd like to do...or for that matter, if you need help deciding, perhaps I can assist there as well.
Enjoy!!

Well.. My intentions are to put together an Imperial Crew costume, with the intentions of turning it into a Tie Pilot. I've also been throwing around the idea of doing a Juno Eclipse costume, as I think that would be easier for me to do, but.. haven't really decided that, yet.
So really, I'm at the 'where do I start' point, and have been going through all of the forums I can to get ideas n'such. Decided it was well time for me to pop in here.

Excellent choices for your first time out!! Here are links to our detachment forums. I strongly suggest you register (if you haven't already) and start surfing the boards.
Imperial Officer Corps (http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/index.php): Here you will find information Imperial Crew and info on Juno Eclipse.
HERE (http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=485) is the tentative CRL (costume reference library) for Juno Eclipse. This is basically a detailed breakdown of the costume requirements.
HERE (http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=433) is the CRL for the Imperial Crew costume.
Jolly Roger Squadron (http://www.jrsforums.com/index.php): Here you will find information regarding the brave TIE fighter pilots of the Imperial Navy.
I hope these references get you on your way.

Oh my..
I'm hoping to at least making it to something in the near future.. Indy is generally a little far, since I work really weird hours, but I'm definitely going to try to make it to at least one of the upcoming events at the Children's Museum, but not likely until November..
But it won't be for lack of trying.

Well.. I bought my first costume pieces. Went out to Tandy Leather in Merrilville and bought parts for my belt, and I am in the process of dying it now. figured the two costumes I want to do needed a belt, so it was a logical starting point.
Oh the excitement =)

Sent out coveralls to be made into a flight suit today.. just a little geeked about that =)
I may be slowly doing this, but.. I think it's going to come together soon enough.

Taking your time to do it right the first time always pays off!
I was on the boards for almost a year before I finally got a costume finished and I'm still working on my second. :D
Oh, yeah, I should be a member of the KTB soon. ;)

Well.. I am officially a member of the ISO now.. so that was my first thing, though putting that together was fairly easy.. Mostly I'm having a hard time finding boots, but I figure I have plenty of time to find those. And then getting to be crafty, painting n'such.. should be interesting.. but I'm kinda looking forward to it.

I thought you sounded familiar. We've chatted on the ISO board. Gratz on becoming part of the ISO. I'm glad we finally have an ISO member in Indiana. I've had fun talking with them on the Tom Hodges website.

Ah.. so an update on what's going on here in SB..
I now have a hat, a belt (though need greeblies for both), Compads which need to be bent and painted, a Jumpsuit at a tailor..
Need to buy boots still, though I think I know where I'm getting those from.
Also found a hasbro e-11 at Target, which is ridiculous and white, but I figure that it could be fun to alter into something more accurate.
All in all, I'd say I have my hands full for the moment. Need to figure out where to actually buy usable paint up here.. cause all of the real hobby shops seem to be going out of business.
I figure I won't be making any more big costume purchases (boots) until after Christmas, but that's only like a month away (eek!) Plan on doing some work on my compad this coming weekend while I have a little bit of free time.
So.. that's where this one stands..

Yes, thanks for the update and the Hasbro E-11 is fun to mod!!!
Krylon Fusion paint for plastic works great on plastic guns. You can get it at many hardware stores and Wal-Mart.

Greeblies for the hat and belt can be ordered from Elvistrooper. I've got the link for them somewhere at home. I'll see if I can find it when I get home tonight and either post or PM you with it.

I actually do have the link for that, just waiting to make those purchases until after the holiday. Thanks lots, though =)

So.
I have my jumpsuit back, got my boots, which need to be modded..
Other than the boots, I basically need to just get greeblies, and/or a different buckle, and paint my compad, I /think/.
Now that I have jumpsuit, I suppose I don't have anymore excuses to keep me from doing the rest? Specially with CV coming up so quickly!

Okay then, so instead of hijacking someone elses's thread, I go to my own! =)
Last semester at school kinda kicked my butt, and so I stepped away from most everything. I also sorta got sidetracked, since my jumpsuit took so long to get finished, that I just sorta lost steam. HOWEVER! I think since I was unable to go to CV, I've decided to use the vacation time that I scheduled to finish this up! So.. Here's what I have left:
Need to alter my boots (remove ankle strap)
Mold and paint my commpad
Get Greeblie for hat/belt buckle (ordered yesterday).
And.. I think? That's pretty much it. Should be done in short order!!
